On September 11, 2008, Rappers Kanye West and 50 Cent will each release new albums. 50 Cent has PROMISED (although I don’t believe him) that he will retire from the rap game if Kanye sells more albums than he does.

Well, lets send 50’s azz into retirement with the quickness!!!!! When it comes to records sales, lets make 50 apart of the "Broke Phi Broke" Fraternity.

I am asking (really begging) all my family members, friends, former classmates, blog family and enemies to each purchase two (2) copies of Kanye West’s new albums on Tuesday, September 11th. Please do not purchase any bootleg copies of this album. Otherwise, soundscan will be unable to record your purchase.

Although I respect Mr. Curtis as a business man, I am really tired of his lip-popping. Can we please increase the peace?

I pray that Kayne sells 5.2 million units in one day.

Sidebar: I just love me some Kanye. He is the one Rapper that has not sent the Civil Rights Movement back a thousand years. Thank you, Mr. West. He gets it from is Momma.

I am totally flabbergasted at the chain of church events that have transpired just this last year alone.

First, there was Tim Haggard being thrown out of the church which he founded because of his homosexual relationship with a male "prostitute. " Then there was the Bynum Beatdown administered by her ESTRANGED husband, the distinguished Bishop Thomas Weeks III, on last week. Today, I learned that “CO-PASTORS” Paula White and Randy White are getting a divorce. My friends this is only the beginning.

The “Pimping the Pew” ministries are about to be shut down by God himself. I do not know about you, but if I hear sow a seed one more time, I may have to lay my religion aside and give someone a Bishop Weeks kind of beatdown.

Let the shaking continue. Perhaps we are on our way to becoming a Nation that judges people by the content of their character (fruit) and not by their portfolios or the size of their ministries.

In his great speech entitled, “I HAVE A DREAM,” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. envisioned a nation whereby black people are judge by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

What is character? As it relates to a person, Webster defines character as the complex of mental and ethical traits marking and often individualizing a person, group or nation. It also defines character as moral excellence and firmness. Moral is defined as of or relating to principles of right and wrong behavior. Ethic is the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation.

In order to DEVELOP moral excellence or character, one must be able to distinguish or discern between good and evil (bad) and then be obligated to live at all cost according to that which is good.

Who or what defines good and evil??? Who determines what is right and wrong???? Does popular culture???

In order to answer the aforementioned questions, one must understand and acknowledge that there is a right and wrong way to conduct their lives. There is a right and wrong way to think. There is a right and wrong way to behave or act.

Naturally, we have laws, statutes, ordinances, regulations, rules and professional ethics (hereinafter, collectively referred to as “laws”) that set forth the acceptable standard of behavior. The purpose of these laws is to maintain order and civility. A nation cannot survive with out such laws.

Conspicuously built into some laws (especially criminal and penal codes) are penalties and consequences for failing to conform your conduct to the acceptable standard of behavior. Such penalties are supposed to act as a deterrent from engaging in unacceptable or wrong behavior.

Now, the issue becomes how can a person conform his or her conduct to this acceptable standard of behavior?

Stay tune as we continue our discussions on character.

Where is DYFS (the Division of Youth and Family Services) when you need them???

Seriously, when I read The Atlanta Journal Constitution interview with Michael Boddie, ESTRANGED father of Mike Vick, I just wanted to cry. However, my sadness quickly turned to anger. Then I just wanted to get the Vaseline and my sneakers and go meet Mr. Boddie in the parking lot.

Why on God’s beautiful green Earth would Daddy Dearest make such statements even if they are true??? Was it really necessary???

Oh, that’s right. He has not had a job since 2003 and is a recovering drug addict. That explains it. Well, I hope the AJC payment for his interview is enough to cover Mr. Boddie’s rent until he receives his book advance. Wow, family sure can do you dirty. Sigh.

Shout-out to the Queen Mom, Brenda Boodie. My heart really goes out to her. Talk about adding insult to injury. I see why you put his a*# out.

Hang in there, Mrs. Boodie. Everything will be alright. You have some real prayer warriors praying for you and your family during this moment of crisis. This too shall pass.

First, I want to say that I am praying for Prophetess Juanita Bynum during her hour of trial. She definitely has the “IT” factor. She is an awesome worshiper. She is extremely gifted in preparing the atmosphere for the receiving of God’s word.

With that being said, I am deeply concerned about the impact that the Bynum “beat down” administered by Bishop Thomas Weeks on last week will have on “baby” Christians and luke warm saints.

Come on, Bishop Weeks. This is Christianity 101: you do not beat your wife. In fact, the Bible specifically says that “husbands ought to love their wives as Christ loves the church.” If you want to know what love is, then read and study 1 Corinthians 13.

This marriage had some issues from the start. Why were they married a year prior to their extravagant wedding??? Why??? Because they did not want to burn with passion????

I must admit. I did purchase the wedding DVD and the Teach Me How To Love book. The wedding overwhelmed me. While beautiful, it was excessive and really unnecessary. But I did like the Salt Covenant ceremony that was performed by Pastor John Hagee. I thought that was deep.

I thought it was a little premature for them to start teaching about how to have a good marriage when they had only been married for a minute. Their marriage had not been tested. But of course, she is Prophetess Bynum so she got a pass for that. The conferences brought in thousands of dollars.

Because male church leaders have NOT been on their best behavior in their own personal lives, it is very hard for them to come forth and publicly speak about the Bynum beat down. How come the Mega Pastors and the My Global Destiny Men did not all get together and go over to Bishop Weeks’ home and threaten to kick his azz if he put another finger on Prophetess Bynum???

The reason that this issue was not addressed by “Mega Pastors” to the level of our liking is because the evil spirit of misogyny has taken up root and is now baring fruit in the church community. You shall know them by their fruit.

Let’s just keep it real. If it were not for the female membership, there would be no mega churches or conferences. So you would think that Mega Pastors would have no problem addressing this issue from their pulpits.

I know that Prophetess is a very “bossy” woman. Girlfriend definitely has an ego. But she does not deserve to get beat down like she did.

Church leaders, you better start casting out the spirit of misogyny out of your heart; or else, God is about to shut you down.

Remember Everything That Glitters Ain’t God!!!!

WHEN!!! By Attorneymom

© 1989

When are we going to stop this madness and come together?
So that we can make our lives, our African American lives, a whole lot better.

When are we going to stop hurting our sisters and brothers,
And learn to get along with one another?

When are we going to stop being slaves to material possession?
KNOWLEDGE and EDUCATION are the keys of life, this is a true confession.

With fine clothing we nurture our skin.
But what about our souls that dwell within?

When are we going to take a look at that man or that woman in the mirror and stop blaming others for our mistakes?
Learn from them that is all it takes.

When are we going to give our sisters and brothers credit where it is due?
Instead of putting them down because you wished it was you.

When are we going to Wake Up and Learn from ancestors never to give up?
Will this be before we self destruct?
