JENNIFER HUDSON: THE ONLY REASON I WATCHED THE GRAMMYS

Congratulation to Jennifer Hudson for winning Best R&B album at the 2009 Grammys. Upon receiving her award, she said the following:

“I would like to thank God, who has brought me through. I would like to thank my family in heaven and those who are here today...”

I almost lost it when she fought back the tears at the end of her performance of “You Pulled Me Through.”

NO ATLANTA BIGGEST LOSER FOR ATTORNEYMOM

Hey, Blog family. I am feeling a little sad today. I was not chosen as a finalist for the Atlanta’s Biggest Loser: Moms’ Edition contest.

I learned about the contest on Monday, February 2, 2009, as I prepared for work. I had my television on 11 Alive News Atlanta and heard that they were sponsoring Biggest Loser contest for Moms.

As soon as I got to work, I went to the website and printed out the rules. The Contest began at 12:01 a.m. EST on January 19th, 2009 and all entries had to be received by February 3, 2009 at 12:00 noon. EST. I was excited that I still had until 12 noon on the next day to submit my application.

I stayed up the entire night to complete my online application. (Sidebar: I will not tell you that I woke up my 11 year old daughter at 2:50 am to take pictures of me to submit with my online application). Finally, I submitted my application at approximately 4:39 am on February 3, 2009. I had a strong feeling that I would receive a call for an interview. I knew if the judges met me in person, I could win a spot on the show.

Well, I learned on momslikeme.com that the finalist were called yesterday morning and I was not one of them.

Sigh. I can’t believe that I was not one of the finalists. I knew if I was chosen to be on the show, I would win hands down, especially with my blog family voting for me each week. I love innocent competition.

Below is my audition tape. Check it out before I remove it from YouTube.

This was one of my favorite audition tape submitted by another potential candidate. I would be surprised if she isn’t one of the finalists.
