Mary Harvey Power 105.1 Interview Gives Details About Personal Assistant, Divorce Settlement, New Book, Therapy and Childhood

Mary Harvey appeared on Power 105.1 for an interview with The Breakfast Club.

When asked what is her plan for herself going forward, besides writing a book that chronicles her dysfunctional childhood, Mary Harvey wants women to reclaim our virtue:
"We have to start standing up for our virtue as women. We don't need a self-proclaimed guru to tell us what we need to do as women. God gave us that ability inside ourselves to say this is who we are, this is what we represent, and we need to start doing that and stop letting guys with a book dictate to us [and] our daughters about who we should be as women; how we should think as women; how we perceive relationships; and how we gotta try match up to some guy that we trying to go get. That is ludicrous."

Harvey also stated that the boiling point, which forced her to come forward with her side of the story, came when she read an article in Essence Magazine where Steve Harvey basically blamed her for his personal pain and credited Marjorie for removing that pain.

The saga continues....

Mom Admits Killing Teen-aged Children for being "Mouthy"

"I brought you into this world and I will take you out." ~ Dr. Cliff Huxtable (The Cosby Show)

From CNN.com

A mother in Tampa, Florida has admitted in detail to killing her two teen-aged children, police said.

Police checking on the family at the request of a relative found Julie K. Schenecker, 50, on the back porch of her home Friday morning, dressed in blood-covered clothing, according to a police statement.

They found her son, Beau Powers Schenecker, 13, dead in the family's SUV, which had been parked in the garage, the statement said. Calyx Powers Schenecker, 16, was in an upstairs bedroom, also dead.

"She did tell us that they talked back, that they were mouthy," Tampa police spokeswoman Laura McElroy told CNN affiliate WTSP. "But I don't think that will ever serve as an explanation to the rest of us of how you could take a child's life."

The woman shot her son as she drove him to soccer practice and returned home to shoot her daughter as she studied on her computer, CNN affiliate WFTS reported, citing investigators. (Source)

"BRING 'BRIT BAT' BACK TO BET THE GAME" ONLINE PETITION

From StraightFromTheA.com:

Erica Gluck, the adorable little girl who played Brittany Pitts (“Brit Brat”), the daughter of Jason & Kelly Pitts on BET’s hit series “The Game” was dropped from the show and abruptly replaced by an older teen.

According to Erica Gluck's father, Chris, the family was willing and able to fly her to Atlanta and stay there with her during shooting, but the producers/writers weren’t even willing to have a meeting with her.

Rumor has it that Erica’s replacement, Katlynn Simone Smith, got the part only because she’s related to Kenny Smith, who is a writer & executive producer of the hit BET show.

Fans of the pre-teen have not gotten together and created an online petition to bring “Brit Brat” back. (Source)

Let’s help bring the original Brit Brat back! CLICK HERE to sign the online petition.Sidebar: Why didn't the other cast members rally together to bring back the original Brittany Pitts? Blank stare. I guess they were too busy worrying about their own jobs. Sigh.

Perhaps Erica Gluck's parents were stage parents that got on the nerves of the show's producers. Whatever the reason is for replacing the Brittany Pitts' character with a new actress, it is time bring back Erica Gluck!

OPRAH WINFREY REVEALS HER SISTER TO AUDIENCE

From Popeater.com
Oprah Winfrey promised to reveal a huge family secret on her show, and she didn't disappoint. The queen of all media introduced Patricia in an emotional and jaw-dropping hour of television. Patricia and Oprah share a mother, Vernita Lee, who had kept her pregnancy with her second daughter a secret all these years after giving up Patricia for adoption when Oprah was only 9 years old.

"All Patricia wanted was the truth," an insider tells me. "She wasn't interested in selling her story even for a million dollars. She just wanted to know who she was, where she came from and if she had any brothers or sisters. She had no idea when she started this search she would end up being Oprah Winfrey's half-sister." (Source)
Sidebar: Patricia is the kind of sister that Oprah deserves. It is refreshing to know that there still are people on this planet that care more about people than profit. Bravo to Patricia for not selling her billionaire sister out to the tabloids.

OHIO MOM CONVICTED OF FELONY IN SCHOOL RESIDENCY CASE

From Ohio.com
Kelley Williams-Bolar, whose children attended Copley-Fairlawn schools while her home address was in dispute, was sentenced to 10 days in jail and community service for falsifying records so that her children could attend the high-achieving suburban district rather than Akron public schools.

Williams-Bolar, who said she was trying to keep her daughters safe, also runs the risk of being disqualified as a school teacher. She currently is an aide for special education classes and is near completion of a college degree that would allow her to become a teacher. Felons in Ohio can be disqualified from working as teachers. (Source)

The Summit County judge who sent an Akron mother to jail after she was convicted of falsifying records so her children could attend Copley-Fairlawn schools said considerable efforts were made to resolve the case before it went to trial.

Common Pleas Judge Patricia A. Cosgrove spoke out after becoming the target of public outcry over the case, which threatens the mother's job and her hopes to become a school teacher.

Cosgrove said the county prosecutor's office refused to consider reducing the charges to misdemeanors, and that all closed-door talks to resolve the case — outside of court — met with failure.

Cosgrove said numerous pretrial hearings were held since last summer.

''The state would not move, would not budge, and offer Ms. Williams-Bolar to plead to a misdemeanor,'' the judge said in an interview Wednesday.

''Of course, I can't put a gun to anybody's head and force the state to offer a plea bargain.'' (Source)

STEVE HARVEY ADMITS TO BEING A CHEATER

During one of his appearances on Good Morning America, Comedian Steve Harvey admitted to Robin Roberts that he has cheated. Although he did not give any details regarding his infidelity, he did admit to being a cheater on national television.

Why is his admission relevant? This clip could be beneficial to Mary Harvey in the event Mr. Harvey brings a defamation suit against her. A defamation suit requires that any spoken or written statements about the plaintiff must be false. Since Mr. Harvey has publicly admitted to being a cheater (albeit not specially during his marriage to Mary Harvey), this admission (along with other proofs) could be used as evidence by his ex-wife to prove the truthfulness of her statements regarding his infidelity during their marriage.

"Until you do right by me everything you think about is gonna crumble. Til you do right by me everything you even think about is gonna fail." ~ Celie in The Color Purple

From People.com
Steve Harvey's ex-wife posted several videos on YouTube this weekend in which she alleges that the comedian and author was a chronic cheater in their marriage who then took their son and left her with nothing after they split....

In response, a statement from Steve Harvey's attorney, Bobbie Edmonds, states:

"We are appalled and aware of the videos and other fabricated documents ... which contained false, misleading, derogatory, disparaging, malicious, explicit and slanderous information about Mr. Harvey, his current wife and others. The ex-wife is fully aware of the court's current orders and permanent injunctions which prohibit either party, their lawyers or representatives from discussing and releasing information on the Internet and to the media. We are taking the necessary legal steps to rectify this matter to the full extent of the law and we will be seeking contempt and sanctions against her for such reprehensible and callous disregard for the court orders. We are saddened that the ex-wife has resorted to such devious and selfish behavior, with a reckless disregard for their minor son, her adult son and Mr. Harvey's other children." (Source)
SIDEBAR: If Mary Harvey's allegations are true, I hope that she hires a team of top attorneys to do battle with Mr. Goliath and his attorney. I hope the proper appeals are made to challenge Mary and Steve's divorce settlement and any court orders or injunctions that are currently in place. I know she is a day late and a dollar short but if there is any evidence of fraud and duress on the part of Mr. Harvey and his attorney in connection with the divorce decree, a court can order that settlement be voided and set aside and restructured to remove the fraudulent provisions.

"Don't be a public success but a private failure. Be a superstar in your own home first." ~ Attorneymom

It is also getting kids to make the right decisions. You have to be accountable for the things you do and the things you say and the people that you are with." ~ Marjorie Harvey

Sidebar: I wish Steve and Marjorie could have shown more respect towards Steve's third marriage to Mary Harvey and not get involved in an adulterous affair before the divorce decree was signed by a judge. In my book, "real men" honor their marital vows and do not cheat on their wives. Selah.

STEVE HARVEY'S EX-WIFE PUTS HIM ON BLAST

Mary Harvey, Steve Harvey's former wife of 16 years, has taken to Youtube to tell the world about how Mr. Relationship Expert cheated on her with several women, including with his current wife, Marjorie, during their marriage.

I have trouble taking relationship advice from anyone who does not possess a good track record in the area of relationships. And it is troubling to see desperate and silly women purchasing the books and flocking to the book signings seeking advice from a three times divorced man who doesn't hold marital fidelity in high regard.

Youtube blogger, Ringo4Life, posted a series of videos exposing the destructive nature of Mr. Steve's relationship advice. Check out my post entitled, STEVE HARVEY EXPOSED.

ROYAL MARSHALL REMEMBERED BY WSB

From Wsbradio.com
Marshall, producer of the Neal Boortz Radio Show, died suddenly at his Atlanta home early Saturday. He was 43.

Marshall is survived by his wife Annette, and two daughters, Amira, 4 and Ava, 2.

Marshall collapsed at his home. Paramedics responded to his wife's call to 911, but were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead early Saturday at Grady Hospital. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office said Monday that Marshall died of a heart attack.

"For 15 years it's been 'Royal and Belinda'" said Belinda Skelton, executive producer of the Neal Boortz Show. "My other half is gone. I don't know if I can sit and look at someone else on the other side of that glass."

Royal and Belinda interviewed at the station and were hired on the same day in 1996.

"Royal was an icon at WSB," said WSB Program Director Pete Spriggs. "I can't believe, frankly, that this is reality. He was a very, very, good man who was very passionate and committed to his wife and daughters, as well as his church and the community. You'll never hear a sharper wit than Royal's. The WSB family is devastated."

Marshall was also very active in his church and the community. He served as a deacon at the Ray of Hope Christian Church in Decatur.

He also served as chairman of the advisory board of Forever Family, an organization whose mission is to provide love and support to disadvantaged children.

Marshall was a military kid who, while born in St. Louis, Missouri, lived all over the world. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1992 with a degree in speech communications.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Royal's church, Ray of Hope Christian Church in Decatur. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Murray Brothers Funeral Home in Atlanta. Both the funeral and the viewing are open to the public.
SIDEBAR: I am deeply saddened by the sudden death of Royal Marshall. I have been listening to the Neal Boortz Show for the past 4 years and enjoyed when Royal occasionally chimed in to give his opinion on issues, especially on race. He brought balance to the show. I do not want to question God during times like this, but it is hard to come to terms with the death of a young man who made the earth a better place, especially when we have knuckle heads roaming the earth trying to blow up the planet or anyone who breaths, including themselves. My prayers are with his wife, daughters and the WSB family.

THANK YOU!

"Yet in the church [and the world] I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue." ~ 1 Corinthians 14:19

Yesterday, my husband showed me a video of Dr. Charles G. Adams given his "10,000 Tongues" sermon during the funerals services for Civil Rights Icon, Rosa Parks. I could not stop replaying it.

As I continuously watched the video and looked for something to blog about today, the only thing that came to my mind was how grateful I am to my Heavenly Father - the only almighty God (Yahweh) - for being so good and merciful towards me and my family, even when we did not deserve it.

So as you go about your daily routine today, take a moment and express your gratitude to both the Almighty God (Yahweh) and the Prince of Peace (Yeshua aka Jesus) for being with us with loving grace despite our failures and successes.

In a nutshell, just say, "Thank You!"

HAPPY FOUNDERS' DAY TO ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY INCORPORATED

Founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC on January 15, 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American college-trained women. To trace its history is to tell a story of changing patterns of human relations in America in the 20th century.

The small group of women who organized the Sorority was conscious of a privileged position as college-trained women of color, just one generation removed from slavery. They were resolute that their college experiences should be as meaningful and productive as possible. Alpha Kappa Alpha was founded to apply that determination.

Led by Ethel Hedgeman Lyle, the nine Howard University students who came together to form Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority were the scholastic leaders of their classes. Each also had a special talent or gift that further enhanced the potential of this dynamic group. The Original Group: Anna Easter Brown, Beulah Burke, Lillie Burke, Marjorie Hill, Margaret Flagg Holmes, Ethel Hedgeman Lyle, Lavinia Norman, Lucy Slowe and Marie Woolfolk Taylor

With the exception of Ethel, the original group of women was comprised of college seniors. To ensure the continuity of the organization, seven Class of 1910 honor students who had expressed interest were invited to join without initiation. The Sophomores: Norma Boyd, Ethel Jones Mowbray, Alice Murray, Sarah Meriweather Nutter, Joanna Berry Shields, Carrie Snowden and Harriet Terry.

Nellie Quander was elected president in 1911. Under her visionary leadership, Alpha Kappa Alpha initiated a dynamic plan of expansion. The first step of establishing a national body in perpetuity was taken in 1913 when Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority was legally incorporated. The Incorporators: Norma Boyd, Julia Brooks, Ethel Jones Mowbray, Nellie Quander, Nellie Pratt Russell and Minnie Smith.

Since its founding over a century ago, Alpha Kappa Alpha’s mission has been to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind.”(Source)

"If Ted is ever going to get better, he's got to be honest with himself and admit he's addicted to drugs and alcohol," the statement from "Dr. Phil" says. TED WILLIAMS FROM HOMELESS TO HOLLYWOOD TO DR. PHIL

Prayer: In the power and authority in the name of (Yeshua) Jesus Christ, I pray that Ted Williams maintains his sobriety. I pray that he surrounds himself with Godly professionals and individuals that will help him manage his sobriety and wealth. I pray that he has no more detours in life. Amen.

From Etonline.com
Ted Williams -- the homeless man with the "Golden Voice" -- is on cloud nine after becoming an overnight sensation, but Dr. Phil is about to bring him back down to earth!

ET's Kevin Frazier was with Ted when he landed in Los Angeles, literally going from homeless to Hollywood -- where he was given the star treatment, including a limo ride from the airport.

As one of TV's top docs, Dr. Phil worries about the pressures Ted faces in the national spotlight. "Will his newfound fame and fortune lead him back to the devastation of the life he once had?" he asks. "What will he do with his second chance?" Right now, Ted is at the height of fame. "That 15 minutes is going to come to an end," Dr. Phil says.
SIDEBAR: Should Ted Williams pay a visit to Dr. Drew? Blank stare.

TRUE RELIGION

Yeshua יֵשׁוּעַ (Yēšūă‘) (aka Jesus) said:

"You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength." ~ Deuteronomy 6:5 and Matthew 22:37
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." ~ John 14:12-17
Hebrew 12:14:
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

"Church has become the Sunday morning disco [or club]. It has become the preacher's stage - where we act out a holy role. But on Saturday night, through the week or maybe even before we reach the pulpit, we [so called] representatives of God are shameless wicked men and women who use religion to suck the blood of the poor. Religion is not entertainment. Religion is not let’s sing along. Religion ain’t doing a holy dance. Religion is not this false show of holiness. Religion is not quoting Arabic. Religion is not prayer without consciousness. Religion is not Sunday morning [at] 11 o’clock or Friday at juba or Friday night and Saturday for Jews - one day out of the week. Religion, as God meant it, is a total complete way of life giving honor to God in everything we say and everything we do. Every action [and every thought] is guided by God.” ~ Minister Louis Farrakhan

Ted Williams on Altercation: 'My Daughter Exploded'

Prayer: In the power and authority in the name of (Yeshua) Jesus Christ, I pray that Ted Williams maintains his sobriety. I pray that he surrounds himself with Godly professionals and individuals that will help him manage his sobriety and wealth. I pray that he has no more detours in life. Amen.

From Etonline.com
"Golden voice" Ted Williams went from being homeless to Hollywood, but hit a road bump on Monday night when he was detained by police following an alleged altercation with his daughter. Now, he and his daughter are sharing their sides of the story.

"Fists got to flying, none of which were mine," Ted tells ET. "In the process..., I got scratched on my face."

"My daughter hit me," Ted told reporters as he walked out of jail. "It was just a misunderstanding."

Daughter Janey shares her take on "Dr. Phil," "He said, 'You, you fat [expletive],' and when he said that, I just got angry."

Janey also alleges her father has been drinking alcohol. "He's consumed at least a bottle of Grey Goose a night, at least. That's not including the Coronas he orders, that's not including Budweisers he orders, that's not including the other alcohol, the wines. He drinks -- heavily," she claims.

On Monday night Ted and Janey were briefly detained by the Los Angeles Police Department following an alleged altercation Monday night in Hollywood, CA. After further investigation, police determined no crime was committed by either party. No charges were filed against either of the parties and both were released a short time later.

Tune in to ET tonight for more, and be sure to check out Ted on "Dr. Phil" this week. (Source)
SIDEBAR: Ted Williams is really in a fight for his life. Overcoming addiction is not easy for both the addict and the family members that have been hurt by the addiction.

Steps 8 and 9 of the 12-Step Program states:
Step 8 - Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
Step 9 - Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others
.

Today, Ted Williams and his family are scheduled to appear on Dr. Phil to discuss the impact of his addiction. I would have preferred that he contacted Dr. Drew, if he had to deal with a celebrity doctor.

Nevertheless, I will Mr. Williams and his family well. They are all in my prayers, especially Mr. Williams.

TED WILLIAMS REUNITES WITH 2 OF HIS 9 CHILDREN

From Etonline.com
Ted Williams has gone from homeless to Hollywood after a video showcasing his "golden voice" went viral on YouTube -- earning him national attention and job offers to put his talent to use. Now ET gets the exclusive reunion with his estranged family.

Ted is reunited with two of his children -- Desmond Jackson, 22, his firstborn son, and Julia Pullien, 30, his firstborn daughter, who is named after his mother.

"Right when Desmond was born in 1988 is when my downward spiral began ... he's never seen my success," Ted tells ET. "I know he has a lot of unresolved anger issues. I'm hoping that this might let him see that your dad always has the capability."

The last thing he wanted his kids to see him as is a "wasted talent," he says. He lost touch with his family because he was ashamed of being down and out, saying, "I just let go, I figured God will take care of them because I can't."

In an interview with ET, Ted said he's kept in touch with his mother Julia Williams, but they have not seen each other in many years -- until now.

"This is my dream come true," his mother says. "It's beautiful that he's found his way and I hope he stays on the right track." (Source)

Phaedra Parks: 'What You See on Camera Is a Character'

From Popeater.com
Phaedra Parks is many things: a lawyer, wife, mother and now one of the stars of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta.' But she admits what you see on TV isn't necessarily the way she is in real life.

"What you see on the camera is a character, so I sometimes don't feel it's who I am as a person," she tells PopEater.

Parks also explains why she wanted to do the show. "I thought it would be a great challenge."

How does she balance her extremely busy life? "It's just effective time management. It's just prioritizing what's important," she explains.
SIDEBAR: I am still trying to ascertain why Attorney Phaedera Parks wants to be seen as a silly unintelligent Southern Belle given her accomplishments? Blank stare. I hope the notoriety is worth it.

'Real Housewives of Atlanta' airs Sundays on Bravo at 10PM.

PHYLICIA BARNES MISSING FROM RELATIVE'S HOME

TIPS: If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Phylica Barnes please contact the Missing Person Unit at 443-984-7385, Northwestern Police District at 410-396-2466 or 911.

Phylicia Barnes was visiting relatives in Baltimore when she disappeared around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 28, after she left the apartment of her 27-year-old half-sister to go shopping.

What happened to the teenager next remains a mystery to both Barnes family and law enforcement investigating her disappearance.

According to family members, Phylicia is a straight-A student who was to graduate early from Union Academy in Monroe and planned to go to Towson University in Maryland. Her father, Russell Barnes, said it is out of character for his daughter to take off without notifying someone.

"We are going through the process of questioning everyone," [Baltimore police Detective Donny] Moses said. "When you look at the totality of everything -- she is an avid Facebook user and hasn't been on in five days -- and then just talking to family members and things like that, [it's] led us to believe foul play is a part." (Source)
The Charlotte Observer is reporting that Barnes' mother is upset because the apartment where her daughter was staying with her older sister had been visited by at least 20 men.

"Deena Barnes misled me," [Janice] Sallis said to the Observer. "I'm a very protective mother. She assured me it would be just she and Phylicia.

This is a sad case that only emphasizes how important it is that we know where are children are at all times.

Barnes was last seen wearing a navy blue pea coat with a hood, a turquoise shirt and blue jeans, white slipper-boots and was carrying a caramel-colored purse.(Source)
TIPS: If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Phylica Barnes please contact the Missing Person Unit at 443-984-7385, Northwestern Police District at 410-396-2466 or 911.

SCOTT SISTERS ARE FREE AT LAST

God showed out this last week.

First, there was the amazing story about a homeless man by the name of Ted Williams whose golden radio voice has taken him from poverty to fame and wealth in less than a three day period.

Now we have Gladys (36) and Jamie (38) Scott's homecoming after being released from a Mississippi prison where they have been incarcerated for 16 years. Gov. Haley Barbour suspended their armed robbery sentences provided that one sister donate a kidney to the other.

Jamie Scott, 38, is gravely ill and needs a kidney transplant, said attorney Chokwe Lumumba.

Barbour said last week it "should be scheduled with urgency." And Jamie Scott told CNN she feared at one point that she would die in prison.

The sisters were convicted of armed robbery and sentenced to life in prison for their role in a 1993 ambush in Scott County, Mississippi. Authorities accused the sisters of leading two men to a group of three teenagers, who hit them with a shotgun and took their wallets. The robbers netted between $11 and $200, according to CNN affiliate WLBT. (Source)

TED WILLIAMS' EX-WIFE SPEAKS ABOUT THEIR TROUBLED MARRIAGE

From NYdailynews.com
Patricia Kirtley raised four daughters alone after Williams split 23 years ago and dove down the rabbit hole of drugs.

Not only that, Kirtley took in the baby boy the radioman had with another woman and raised him as her own.

Oh, and by the way, she’s partially blind.

“We survived,” Kirtley said Thursday in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. “My children are survivors. They know if we get a little bit that God provides, we make it into a lot. I’m a soup maker. I make potato soup and throw in a lot of vegetables and a little meat. We always ate.”

Except that Williams, who seems to be a nice guy, just wasn’t strong, wasn’t around and wasn’t contributing financially.

Kirtley had to go on the dole. “I still remember my case number,” she says ruefully. She eventually went to school and got licensed as a blind vendor.

“My mother and sisters pitched in and drove me because I can’t see to drive,” said Kirtley, now 58, over a din of some of her 16 grandchildren playing.

“They didn’t understand why he was never there for their school functions, or just to help with their homework,” she said.

“That’s when I really could have used help, because I couldn’t see their pages. My kids are really good readers, though, because I made them read everything to me out loud.” (SOURCE)
